This space was renovated to house the showroom and offices for Yohji Yamamoto America, which has several labels and collaborations under the Yohji Yamamoto brand. The history of the space – and its former use as a printing warehouse – is seen in the wear of the floor and the patina of the steel column sleeves.
The 8,000 square foot open plan is the US showroom for all Yohji Yamamoto labels and calls for flexibility within each area to expand or contract as the lines change. There are no traditional distinctions between product display and storage. All storage is on display. Additional program includes offices, kitchen/pantry, and storage for office equipment.
